I have solved one of the biggest chronic problems with white and grindal worm cultures. It is 100% effective and is very simple to implement. You usually know that an Enchytraeid worm culture is starting to go downhill when it becomes sopping wet. The worms are booming, but the saturated substrate spells trouble on the way. It turns out to be a simple fix illustrated in the following pictures. Just keep changing out the paper towel plug until you've removed the excess water:
