Plataplochilus
Plataplochilus

P. sp. "Warpaint"

I got this fish in 2001-2 at a convention auction. I believe they came from Holland with one of the speakers. They were labeled "P. loemensis". I got mostly males and couldn't keep them going. Brian Perkins, July 18, 2017.

"About 1990 I got a Plataplochilus species under the name "Santa Philomena". The location is unknown to me, but the coloration is extraordinary for Plataplochilus" - Eduard Purzl.

Sousoube

The only orange Plataplocheilus so far, this small (to 5cm in the wild) fish was collected in 2014 in Gabon and a photo published in 2018 but no collection information was supplied. A major work on these fish is pending and perhaps it will be described there. Time will tell. It is reported that there are numerous fry.
