ndian
waterfall
The waterfall on the Ndian river ~180 km north of Doula

... is, according to todays maps, "Ikasa". Sjostedt travelled by boat and it would presumably be difficult to go any further up the river, it's waterfall after narrow waterfall after rapids for quite a way and would not be possible I would think, to go upstream in a boat unless you want to carry it over rocky terrain or through the dense jungle.

There is a bridge across the river at the first waterfall, about 50 Km from the coast but it does not show up on road maps. Nearby is what Scheel referred to in 1968 as a plantation; the presence of oil palm trees in the area confirms it still is. The closest town with a road is Mundemba about 3 km to the northeast. Scheel found no SJO here in his visits to the area. That is, one attempt to collect SJO at he purported terra typica failed.

nyong
~80km South of Doula

"200 miles from the sea on the Nyong river" would be about where the Nyong river is closest to Youande, about 10km as the river meanders east for another 200km then disappears in the mountains which are it's origin. At the other end it empties into the ocean a few kilometers of the Sangama River.
