Sapele Warri - 1989 importation

Wild SJO have never been common, yet imports happened from time to time. It was not until the 1980s though, that any with known populations were circulated. But thanks to Toni Woeltjes of Ruinmans of The Netherlands, and private collector Horst Gressens in Germany, (and many inbetween) there were Niger Delta and Warri forms of SJO from Nigeria and the Loe form from Cameroon - swimming in my tanks by the summer of 1989. Christopher Aubin found the same form as Low at Funge in 2013, and now we have two strains of these magnificent fish from Cameroon to complement the large number of Nigerian strains in the hobby.
