"This eight-foot-deep pool is filled by a spring that releases 1,200 gallons of water a minute. Located in Nevada at Ash Meadows NWR's Point of Rocks, this lush area of perennial water has drawn humans and wildlife alike for many thousands of years.

The crystal-clear waters of Kings Pool is home to the Ash Meadows Amargosa pupfish, a two-inch-long endangered fish found only in the springs at this refuge."- US Fish and Wildlife Service.
